It's ok to be bluntly honest

(A snippet from an email I sent a friend who is helping out.)

Those of you who know me IRL probably already know this but, for the rest of you, and as a reminder to them...

I strongly prefer candid feedback, even if it's harsh, over "trying to be nice" things like "...um... it seems ...uh... 'nice'".

Basically, I'm aware that what I have so far (Beta-1, as of this writing) is largely "functional", and not terribly pretty, and a bit weak in the "tons of fun" department. It is not my goal to have people say nice things; it is my goal to make the game awesome.

I also realize that it may be a multi-stage effort to get from where we're at right now to awesome. So, for v1.0, I'll settle for "not-ugly" and "fun." But my =eventual= goal is to evolve it toward awesome.

Anyway, with all of that in mind, I just wanted to let you know that it's ok (desirable!) to say "well, =this= part kind of sucks, doesn't it?" and things like that.

(Obviously, "...it would be a lot better if <foo>" is always helpful, but even that's not required.)
