Crafting Interface

In the crafting view are 3 filter buttons that can be used to adjust what items are displayed.

  • All: shows everything.
  • Can Make: Shows what you can-make, giving your current materials, tech & tools. (Toggles with All)
  • Tools (implies All): Shows what you could make, given your current tools, if you had the mats & tech.
  • Tech (implies All): Shows what you could make, given your current tech, if you had the mats & tools.
  • Tools+Tech (implies All): Shows what you could make, given your current tech & tools, if you had the mats.

"Soon!", you'll be able to craft using materials stored in chests that are in inventory.

Robots can craft. And sell things in the market. Ideally you'll progress to a point where the whole farm will just buzz along while you sit on the porch and drink mint juleps.

Learn-by-failure

Internally, "craft 5" is performed as "craft 1, select item, craft 1, select item..."

If you craft something that only has a %-chance to succeed, and you select 10 at a time, you're unlikely to get all 10. But you might get some, depending on your %-chance. In addition, each failure (of the 10 tries) bumps your %-chance up ("Learn by doing/failing").

As the app crafts them one at a time, failures from earlier attempts update your learning-bonus for subsequent attempts.
